Father Albert Anuszewski, O.SS.T.

Our Trinitarian Biography for October 2023 is Father Albert Anuszewski, O.SS.T.

***Please pray for him during this month as you enjoy his replies.***

I made my Solemn Profession of Vows on October 8, 1988, at St. Jerome Church in Hyattsville, MD.

I was ordained to the priesthood on June 8, 1991. That year June 8 was both the Feast of St. Michael of the Saints as well as the Patronal Feast of our Province, the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

My favorite aspect of my priesthood is leading people in worship at the Eucharist. What a privilege for the Lord to use me as His instrument that bread and wine are transformed through the consecration and become the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ.

Throughout my time as a Trinitarian, I have been blessed with many opportunities of service in the name of the Order and for the province. I have served as both an associate pastor and later as a pastor in different Trinitarian Parishes. I have served the Trinitarian Order as a General Councilor and General Treasurer in Rome. While in Rome, I also served as the Campus Minister at Loyola University Chicago’s Rome campus for ten years. Twice, I have served as the Director of Vocations for the province. I served as the Minister Provincial of the Province for three years and now I am in my third stint at DeMatha Catholic High School, teaching Sophomore theology and serving as the Director of Trinitarian Mission.

My most memorable moments as a priest have been many, especially celebrating the Eucharist and the Sacrament of Reconciliation, which is very humbling and sanctifying. So, it is very hard to find one particular moment.

Having lived in Italy for 12 years, I have a love for Italian food, but I would say my favorite food is Gołąbki (stuffed cabbage rolls).

In my free time, I enjoy reading and playing the guitar, as well as visiting historical Catholic churches and Shrines.

During the month of October, please remember Father Albert Anuszewski, O.SS.T. in your daily prayers!
